Call for Artists
Archer County Museum and Arts Center is seeking an Archer County Artist for a commission. The Artist will create a piece based on our 1910 jail building. The artwork will be used in marketing and promotion. This is the start of our initiative to create a collaborative effort with local artists on upcoming projects.

2-3 examples of architecturally based artwork. Photographs should be titled last name,first name,number (example: smith.john.1)

Applications are due by November 30, 2022.
watercolor, acrylic, oil, charcoal, graphite, pen, ink, screen-printing, glass, mosaic, collage, etc.
*3D and photographic artwork will not be considered.
The Executive Director will review applications and select the final Artist.
Terms of Commission:
The Artist must be an Archer County resident or had previously lived in Archer County.
The commissioned Artist will have 2 months to complete their artwork. The finished piece is estimated to be 16” x 20” but can be adjusted after discussion with the Executive Director. The jail building will be accessible to the Artist during this time for reference and inspiration along with reference photographs and material from the museum’s collection.
The Artist will be compensated $150 for the rights to use the image and reproduce the artwork. The Artist will always receive written credit.
The artwork will be digitized and there may become an opportunity for Archer County Museum and Arts Center to purchase the physical artwork to include in its collection. This will be discussed upon completion.
