About the event
Now through May, a pop-up exhibit is traveling to the five libraries in the county. The exhibit tells the stories behind some popular and early toys of the 20th century. In conjunction with the pop-up exhibit, we are holding two workshop opportunities to make your own toy!
One of the toys highlighted in the exhibit is the Tabby Cat, a sew-it-yourself style toy originating in 1892. We have worked with a local artist, Nitsa Klaras, to create a jackrabbit pattern. The workshop will include cutting the pattern out, sewing it together, and decorating your toy with fabric markers. For those that haven't quite conquered scissors or sewing skills, we can pre-make a jackrabbit for them to decorate. The premade jackrabbits are recommended for ages under 8.
