This year's ornament is the Archer County Courthouse. The courthouse was constructed in 1891 out of locally quarried stone. It originally had two stories with a cupola with a clock facing each of the four directions. In 1925, the dome was removed, and a third floor was added using the masonry from the old Archer City School.
